Avril Bardoni), and Rebecca May Johnson, author of Small Fires, will come together to celebrate Natalia Ginzburg. On Thursday 5 October at Daunt Marylebone, join us for what promises to be an insightful conversation about Valentino and the legacy of Ginzburg’s writings.

Alexander Chee is the bestselling author of the novels Edinburgh and The Queen of the Night, and the essay collection How To Write An Autobiographical Novel. A contributing editor at the New Republic, and an editor at large at VQR, his essays and stories have appeared in the New York Times Magazine, T Magazine, the Sewaneee Review, and the 2016 and 2019 Best American Essays. He teaches as an associate professor of English and Creative Writing at Dartmouth College.
Rebecca May Johnson is a writer whose work has appeared in Granta, Fantastic Man, the Plant, the Happy Reader, Times Literary Supplement, London Review of Books online, Tribune, At The Table, and Grub zine among others. She earned a PhD in Contemporary Literature from UCL in 2016, and her research about a creative rewriting of The Odyssey was published as a book in 2019.
