16 July: Mina Holland in conversation with Vida Adamczewski
Posted 3rd July 2025
Following the release of her memoir Lifeblood: A Mother In Search of Hope, Mina Holland will be joined by writer Vida Adamczewski to discuss motherhood, chronic illness, and life-writing.
Lifeblood: A Mother In Search of Hope is a raw and moving tale of family-making in the face of illness, chronicling the first years of their lives after Vida is diagnosed with Diamond Blackfan Anaemia, a rare, life-threatening blood disorder.
In a work of unflinching honesty and blazing tenderness, Mina Holland tells the story of how their lives and expectations are transformed by parenthood, tracing how a once unknown medical world slowly becomes a familiar one. Together, with fierce tenacity, they moves towards a future Mina never anticipated, but one that is rich with love, hope and community.
Mina Holland is a writer based in London. Previously an editor at the Guardian’s ‘Feast’ magazine, she now contributes to titles including the Observer, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and TOAST, and is an occasional advisor to restaurants. Lifeblood is her third book; but her first not about food. @minaholland
